Ready To Run is a movement dedicated to inspiring, supporting and building young people to run for office and most importantly win elections. Through The ReadyToRun, Yiaga Africa is mobilizing a new breed of visionary public leaders to sanitize electoral politics, obtain political power through the ballot and provide accountable, responsive and innovative leadership. The Ready To Run is also focused on equipping candidates with skills and tactics for running effective electoral campaigns.

ReadyToRun was borne of the Not Too Young To Run Campaign which championed the historic constitutional amendment campaign that led to the reduction of the age of running for elective office in Nigeria. This historic feat was achieved through effective activism which underscores the inestimable value of citizens-state engagement in enhancing the quality of democratic politics in Nigeria.

The ReadyToRun was founded in a bid to consolidate on this success and ensure young people with competence, character and capacity leverage on every opportunity available to not just run for political offices but emerge winners to champion decision making process that will promote national development.

Is Ready To Run a political party or a partisan movement?

Ready To Run is not a political party and has absolutely no partisan interest. Our campaign will never endorse, transform into or affiliate with a political party and merely seeks to support young aspirants regardless of party.

Is Ready To Run a global movement?

ReadyToRun is a movement which encourages young people from across different walks of life, races, and continents. However at this stage, we are focused on supporting young men and women running in Nigeria’s 2019 Elections. We will publicise in future if the Ready To Run movement expands into other countries.
